| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipmi: ipmb: initialise event handler read bytes
IPMB doesn't use i2c reads, but the handler needs to set a value.
Otherwise an i2c read will return an uninitialised value from the bus
driver. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Add sanity check for OOB writes at silencing
At silencing the playback URB packets in the implicit fb mode before
the actual playback, we blindly assume that the received packets fit
with the buffer size. But when the setup in the capture stream
differs from the playback stream (e.g. due to the USB core limitation
of max packet size), such an inconsistency may lead to OOB writes to
the buffer, resulting in a crash.
For addressing it, add a sanity check of the transfer buffer size at
prepare_silent_urb(), and stop the data copy if the received data
overflows. Also, report back the transfer error properly from there,
too.
Note that this doesn't fix the root cause of the playback error
itself, but this merely covers the kernel Oops. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: af_alg - limit RX SG extraction by receive buffer budget
Make af_alg_get_rsgl() limit each RX scatterlist extraction to the
remaining receive buffer budget.
af_alg_get_rsgl() currently uses af_alg_readable() only as a gate
before extracting data into the RX scatterlist. Limit each extraction
to the remaining af_alg_rcvbuf(sk) budget so that receive-side
accounting matches the amount of data attached to the request.
If skcipher cannot obtain enough RX space for at least one chunk while
more data remains to be processed, reject the recvmsg call instead of
rounding the request length down to zero. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
openvswitch: defer tunnel netdev_put to RCU release
ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy() may run after NETDEV_UNREGISTER already
detached the device. Dropping the netdev reference in destroy can race
with concurrent readers that still observe vport->dev.
Do not release vport->dev in ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy(). Instead, let
vport_netdev_free() drop the reference from the RCU callback, matching
the non-tunnel destroy path and avoiding additional synchronization
under RTNL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
openvswitch: validate MPLS set/set_masked payload length
validate_set() accepted OVS_KEY_ATTR_MPLS as variable-sized payload for
SET/SET_MASKED actions. In action handling, OVS expects fixed-size
MPLS key data (struct ovs_key_mpls).
Use the already normalized key_len (masked case included) and reject
non-matching MPLS action key sizes.
Reject invalid MPLS action payload lengths early. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ipv6: flowlabel: defer exclusive option free until RCU teardown
`ip6fl_seq_show()` walks the global flowlabel hash under the seq-file
RCU read-side lock and prints `fl->opt->opt_nflen` when an option block
is present.
Exclusive flowlabels currently free `fl->opt` as soon as `fl->users`
drops to zero in `fl_release()`. However, the surrounding
`struct ip6_flowlabel` remains visible in the global hash table until
later garbage collection removes it and `fl_free_rcu()` finally tears it
down.
A concurrent `/proc/net/ip6_flowlabel` reader can therefore race that
early `kfree()` and dereference freed option state, triggering a crash
in `ip6fl_seq_show()`.
Fix this by keeping `fl->opt` alive until `fl_free_rcu()`. That matches
the lifetime already required for the enclosing flowlabel while readers
can still reach it under RCU. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: xt_multiport: validate range encoding in checkentry
ports_match_v1() treats any non-zero pflags entry as the start of a
port range and unconditionally consumes the next ports[] element as
the range end.
The checkentry path currently validates protocol, flags and count, but
it does not validate the range encoding itself. As a result, malformed
rules can mark the last slot as a range start or place two range starts
back to back, leaving ports_match_v1() to step past the last valid
ports[] element while interpreting the rule.
Reject malformed multiport v1 rules in checkentry by validating that
each range start has a following element and that the following element
is not itself marked as another range start. |
| Vvveb CMS 1.0.8.2 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in its media upload handler that allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands by uploading a PHP webshell with a .phtml extension. Attackers can bypass the extension deny-list and upload malicious files to the publicly accessible media directory, then request the file over HTTP to achieve full server compromise. |
| Vvveb CMS prior to v1.0.8.2 contains a remote code execution vulnerability in its media management functionality where a missing return statement in the file rename handler allows authenticated attackers to rename files to blocked extensions .php or .htaccess. Attackers can exploit this logic flaw by first uploading a text file and renaming it to .htaccess to inject Apache directives that register PHP-executable MIME types, then uploading another file and renaming it to .php to execute arbitrary operating system commands as the www-data user. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bridge: br_nd_send: linearize skb before parsing ND options
br_nd_send() parses neighbour discovery options from ns->opt[] and
assumes that these options are in the linear part of request.
Its callers only guarantee that the ICMPv6 header and target address
are available, so the option area can still be non-linear. Parsing
ns->opt[] in that case can access data past the linear buffer.
Linearize request before option parsing and derive ns from the linear
network header. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
batman-adv: avoid OGM aggregation when skb tailroom is insufficient
When OGM aggregation state is toggled at runtime, an existing forwarded
packet may have been allocated with only packet_len bytes, while a later
packet can still be selected for aggregation. Appending in this case can
hit skb_put overflow conditions.
Reject aggregation when the target skb tailroom cannot accommodate the new
packet. The caller then falls back to creating a new forward packet
instead of appending. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fuse: abort on fatal signal during sync init
When sync init is used and the server exits for some reason (error, crash)
while processing FUSE_INIT, the filesystem creation will hang. The reason
is that while all other threads will exit, the mounting thread (or process)
will keep the device fd open, which will prevent an abort from happening.
This is a regression from the async mount case, where the mount was done
first, and the FUSE_INIT processing afterwards, in which case there's no
such recursive syscall keeping the fd open. |

The root cause is in commit 40b2d55e0452 ("f2fs: fix to create selinux
label during whiteout initialization"), we added a call to
f2fs_setup_filename() without a matching call to f2fs_free_filename(),
fix it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: sched: act_csum: validate nested VLAN headers
tcf_csum_act() walks nested VLAN headers directly from skb->data when an
skb still carries in-payload VLAN tags. The current code reads
vlan->h_vlan_encapsulated_proto and then pulls VLAN_HLEN bytes without
first ensuring that the full VLAN header is present in the linear area.
If only part of an inner VLAN header is linearized, accessing
h_vlan_encapsulated_proto reads past the linear area, and the following
skb_pull(VLAN_HLEN) may violate skb invariants.
Fix this by requiring pskb_may_pull(skb, VLAN_HLEN) before accessing and
pulling each nested VLAN header. If the header still is not fully
available, drop the packet through the existing error path. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix UAF caused by decrementing sbi->nr_pages[] in f2fs_write_end_io()
The xfstests case "generic/107" and syzbot have both reported a NULL
pointer dereference.
The concurrent scenario that triggers the panic is as follows:

The root cause is that f2fs_put_super() calls iput(sbi->node_inode) and
sets sbi->node_inode to NULL after sbi->nr_pages[F2FS_WB_CP_DATA] is
decremented to zero. As a result, f2fs_in_warm_node_list() may
dereference a NULL node_inode when checking whether a folio belongs to
the node inode, leading to a panic.
This patch fixes the issue by calling f2fs_in_warm_node_list() before
decrementing sbi->nr_pages[F2FS_WB_CP_DATA], thus preventing the
use-after-free condition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: validate rec->used in journal-replay file record check
check_file_record() validates rec->total against the record size but
never validates rec->used. The do_action() journal-replay handlers read
rec->used from disk and use it to compute memmove lengths:
DeleteAttribute: memmove(attr, ..., used - asize - roff)
CreateAttribute: memmove(..., attr, used - roff)
change_attr_size: memmove(..., used - PtrOffset(rec, next))
When rec->used is smaller than the offset of a validated attribute, or
larger than the record size, these subtractions can underflow allowing
us to copy huge amounts of memory in to a 4kb buffer, generally
considered a bad idea overall.
This requires a corrupted filesystem, which isn't a threat model the
kernel really needs to worry about, but checking for such an obvious
out-of-bounds value is good to keep things robust, especially on journal
replay
Fix this up by bounding rec->used correctly.
This is much like commit b2bc7c44ed17 ("fs/ntfs3: Fix slab-out-of-bounds
read in DeleteIndexEntryRoot") which checked different values in this
same switch statement. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: validate owner of durable handle on reconnect
Currently, ksmbd does not verify if the user attempting to reconnect
to a durable handle is the same user who originally opened the file.
This allows any authenticated user to hijack an orphaned durable handle
by predicting or brute-forcing the persistent ID.
According to MS-SMB2, the server MUST verify that the SecurityContext
of the reconnect request matches the SecurityContext associated with
the existing open.
Add a durable_owner structure to ksmbd_file to store the original opener's
UID, GID, and account name. and catpure the owner information when a file
handle becomes orphaned. and implementing ksmbd_vfs_compare_durable_owner()
to validate the identity of the requester during SMB2_CREATE (DHnC). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: ip6t_eui64: reject invalid MAC header for all packets
`eui64_mt6()` derives a modified EUI-64 from the Ethernet source address
and compares it with the low 64 bits of the IPv6 source address.
The existing guard only rejects an invalid MAC header when
`par->fragoff != 0`. For packets with `par->fragoff == 0`, `eui64_mt6()`
can still reach `eth_hdr(skb)` even when the MAC header is not valid.
Fix this by removing the `par->fragoff != 0` condition so that packets
with an invalid MAC header are rejected before accessing `eth_hdr(skb)`. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix use-after-free in __ksmbd_close_fd() via durable scavenger
When a durable file handle survives session disconnect (TCP close without
SMB2_LOGOFF), session_fd_check() sets fp->conn = NULL to preserve the
handle for later reconnection. However, it did not clean up the byte-range
locks on fp->lock_list.
Later, when the durable scavenger thread times out and calls
__ksmbd_close_fd(NULL, fp), the lock cleanup loop did:
spin_lock(&fp->conn->llist_lock);
This caused a slab use-after-free because fp->conn was NULL and the
original connection object had already been freed by
ksmbd_tcp_disconnect().
The root cause is asymmetric cleanup: lock entries (smb_lock->clist) were
left dangling on the freed conn->lock_list while fp->conn was nulled out.
To fix this issue properly, we need to handle the lifetime of
smb_lock->clist across three paths:
- Safely skip clist deletion when list is empty and fp->conn is NULL.
- Remove the lock from the old connection's lock_list in
session_fd_check()
- Re-add the lock to the new connection's lock_list in
ksmbd_reopen_durable_fd(). |
