CVE-2026-34078 1 Flatpak 1 Flatpak 2026-04-24 10.0 Critical
Flatpak is a Linux application sandboxing and distribution framework. Prior to 1.16.4, the Flatpak portal accepts paths in the sandbox-expose options which can be app-controlled symlinks pointing at arbitrary paths. Flatpak run mounts the resolved host path in the sandbox. This gives apps access to all host files and can be used as a primitive to gain code execution in the host context. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.16.4.
CVE-2026-32212 1 Microsoft 30 Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2 and 27 more 2026-04-24 5.5 Medium
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Universal Plug and Play (upnp.dll) allows an authorized attacker to disclose information locally.
CVE-2026-40931 1 Node-modules 1 Compressing 2026-04-23 8.4 High
Compressing is a compressing and uncompressing lib for node. Prior to 2.1.1 and 1.10.5, the patch for CVE-2026-24884 relies on a purely logical string validation within the isPathWithinParent utility. This check verifies if a resolved path string starts with the destination directory string but fails to account for the actual filesystem state. By exploiting this "Logical vs. Physical" divergence, an attacker can bypass the security check using a Directory Poisoning technique (pre-existing symbolic links). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.1 and 1.10.5.
CVE-2007-4129 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 2 Coolkey, Enterprise Linux 2026-04-23 N/A
CoolKey 1.1.0 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files in the /tmp/.pk11ipc1/ directory.
CVE-2007-4631 1 Qgit 1 Qgit 2026-04-23 N/A

CVE-2007-6595 1 Clam Anti-virus 1 Clamav 2026-04-23 N/A
ClamAV 0.92 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on (1) temporary files used by the cli_gentempfd function in libclamav/others.c or on (2) .ascii files used by sigtool, when utf16-decode is enabled.
CVE-2008-1199 2 Dovecot, Redhat 2 Dovecot, Enterprise Linux 2026-04-23 N/A
Dovecot before 1.0.11, when configured to use mail_extra_groups to allow Dovecot to create dotlocks in /var/mail, might allow local users to read sensitive mail files for other users, or modify files or directories that are writable by group, via a symlink attack.
CVE-2008-4940 1 Aptoncd 1 Aptoncd 2026-04-23 N/A
xmlfile.py in aptoncd 0.1 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/aptoncd temporary file.
CVE-2008-4947 1 Guus Sliepen 1 Dhis-server 2026-04-23 N/A
dhis-dummy-log-engine in dhis-server 5.3 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/dhis-dummy-log-engine.log temporary file.
CVE-2008-4953 1 Firehol 1 Firehol 2026-04-23 N/A
firehol in firehol 1.256 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on (1) /tmp/.firehol-tmp-#####-*-* and (2) /tmp/firehol.conf temporary files. NOTE: the vendor disputes this vulnerability, stating that an attack "would require an attacker to create 1073741824*PID-RANGE symlinks.
CVE-2008-5394 1 Debian 1 Shadow 2026-04-23 N/A
/bin/login in shadow 4.0.18.1 in Debian GNU/Linux, and probably other Linux distributions, allows local users in the utmp group to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a temporary file referenced in a line (aka ut_line) field in a utmp entry.
CVE-2008-3261 1 Claroline 1 Claroline 2026-04-23 N/A
Open redirect vulnerability in claroline/redirector.php in Claroline before 1.8.10 allows remote attackers to redirect users to arbitrary web sites and conduct phishing attacks via a URL in the url parameter.
CVE-2008-3521 1 Jasper Project 1 Jasper 2026-04-23 N/A
Race condition in the jas_stream_tmpfile function in libjasper/base/jas_stream.c in JasPer 1.900.1 allows local users to cause a denial of service (program exit) by creating the appropriate tmp.XXXXXXXXXX temporary file, which causes Jasper to exit. NOTE: this was originally reported as a symlink issue, but this was incorrect. NOTE: some vendors dispute the severity of this issue, but it satisfies CVE's requirements for inclusion.
