A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way affected Microsoft scripting engines render when handling objects in memory in Microsoft browsers. These vulnerabilities could corrupt memory in such a way that an attacker could execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the current user. If the current user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could take control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. This vulnerability is different from those described in CVE-2017-0010, CVE-2017-0015, CVE-2017-0032, CVE-2017-0035, CVE-2017-0067, CVE-2017-0070, CVE-2017-0071, CVE-2017-0094, CVE-2017-0131, CVE-2017-0132, CVE-2017-0133, CVE-2017-0134, CVE-2017-0137, CVE-2017-0138, CVE-2017-0141, CVE-2017-0150, and CVE-2017-0151.
| Uniscribe in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, and Windows 7 SP1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted web site, aka "Uniscribe Remote Code Execution Vulnerability." | A vulnerability in the web-based user interface of Cisco Prime Infrastructure (PI) and Evolved Programmable Network Manager (EPNM) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker read and write access to information stored in the affected system as well as perform remote code execution. The attacker must have valid user credentials. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of XML External Entity (XXE) entries when parsing an XML file. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing the administrator of an affected system to import a crafted XML file with malicious entries which could allow the attacker to read and write files and execute remote code within the application, aka XML Injection. Cisco Prime Infrastructure software releases 1.1 through 3.1.6 are vulnerable. Cisco EPNM software releases 1.2, 2.0, and 2.1 are vulnerable. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvc23894 CSCvc49561. |
In OpenJPEG 2.3.0, a stack-based buffer overflow was discovered in the pgxtoimage function in jpwl/convert.c. The vulnerability causes an out-of-bounds write, which may lead to remote denial of service or possibly remote code execution.
A potential remote code execution vulnerability exists in the PDF parsing functionality of Nitro Pro 10. A specially crafted PDF file can cause a vulnerability resulting in potential code execution. An attacker can send the victim a specific PDF file to trigger this vulnerability.
Remote code execution in Lenovo Updates (not Lenovo System Update) allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code.
A 3rd party development library including with Drupal 8 development dependencies is vulnerable to remote code execution. This is mitigated by the default .htaccess protection against PHP execution, and the fact that Composer development dependencies aren't normal installed. You might be vulnerable to this if you are running a version of Drupal before 8.2.2. To be sure you aren't vulnerable, you can remove the <siteroot>/vendor/phpunit directory from your production deployments
The Symantec Messaging Gateway can encounter an issue of remote code execution, which describes a situation whereby an individual may obtain the ability to execute commands remotely on a target machine or in a target process.
An active network attacker (MiTM) can achieve remote code execution on a machine that runs IKARUS Anti Virus 2.16.7. IKARUS AV for Windows uses cleartext HTTP for updates along with a CRC32 checksum and an update value for verification of the downloaded files. The attacker first forces the client to initiate an update transaction by modifying an update field within an HTTP 200 response, so that it refers to a nonexistent update. The attacker then modifies the HTTP 404 response so that it specifies a successfully found update, with a Trojan horse executable file (e.g., guardxup.exe) and the correct CRC32 checksum for that file.
An issue was discovered in Fatek Automation PLC Ethernet Module. The affected Ether_cfg software configuration tool runs on the following Fatek PLCs: CBEH versions prior to V3.6 Build 170215, CBE versions prior to V3.6 Build 170215, CM55E versions prior to V3.6 Build 170215, and CM25E versions prior to V3.6 Build 170215. A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified, which may allow remote code execution or crash the affected device.
An issue was discovered in Hanwha Techwin Smart Security Manager Versions 1.5 and prior. Multiple Path Traversal vulnerabilities have been identified. The flaws exist within the ActiveMQ Broker service that is installed as part of the product. By issuing specific HTTP requests, if a user visits a malicious page, an attacker can gain access to arbitrary files on the server. Smart Security Manager Versions 1.4 and prior to 1.31 are affected by these vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities can allow for remote code execution.
A Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability could lead to remote code execution for authenticated administrators. This issue was introduced in version 2.2.0 of Hipchat Server and version 3.0.0 of Hipchat Data Center. Versions of Hipchat Server starting with 2.2.0 and before 2.2.6 are affected by this vulnerability. Versions of Hipchat Data Center starting with 3.0.0 and before 3.1.0 are affected.
EMC VASA Provider Virtual Appliance versions 8.3.x and prior has an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability that could potentially be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system.
VMware ESXi (6.0 before ESXi600-201711101-SG, 5.5 ESXi550-201709101-SG), Workstation (12.x before 12.5.8), and Fusion (8.x before 8.5.9) contain a vulnerability that could allow an authenticated VNC session to cause a stack overflow via a specific set of VNC packets. Successful exploitation of this issue could result in remote code execution in a virtual machine via the authenticated VNC session. Note: In order for exploitation to be possible in ESXi, VNC must be manually enabled in a virtual machine's .vmx configuration file. In addition, ESXi must be configured to allow VNC traffic through the built-in firewall.
Winmail Server 6.1 allows remote code execution by authenticated users who leverage directory traversal in a netdisk.php move_folder_file call to move a .php file from the FTP folder into a web folder.
A vulnerability in the Data-in-Motion (DMo) process installed with the Cisco IOx application environment could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a stack overflow that could allow remote code execution with root privileges in the virtual instance running on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient bounds checking in the DMo process. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted packets that are forwarded to the DMo process for evaluation. The impacts of a successful exploit are limited to the scope of the virtual instance and do not impact the router that is hosting Cisco IOx. This vulnerability affects the following Cisco 800 Series Industrial Integrated Services Routers: Cisco IR809 and Cisco IR829. Cisco IOx Releases 1.0.0.0 and 1.1.0.0 are vulnerable. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCuy52330.
A Stack-Based Buffer Overflow issue was discovered in Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT versions prior to Version 5.4.43.0. The stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified, which may cause a crash or allow remote code execution.
The Lenovo Service Framework Android application executes some system commands without proper sanitization of external input. In certain cases, this could lead to command injection which, in turn, could lead to remote code execution.
