| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - fix DMA transfer direction When CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG is selected, while running the crypto self test on the QAT crypto algorithms, the function add_dma_entry() reports a warning similar to the one below, saying that overlapping mappings are not supported. This occurs in tests where the input and the output scatter list point to the same buffers (i.e. two different scatter lists which point to the same chunks of memory). The logic that implements the mapping uses the flag DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL for both the input and the output scatter lists which leads to overlapped write mappings. These are not supported by the DMA layer. Fix by specifying the correct DMA transfer directions when mapping buffers. For in-place operations where the input scatter list matches the output scatter list, buffers are mapped once with DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL, otherwise input buffers are mapped using the flag DMA_TO_DEVICE and output buffers are mapped with DMA_FROM_DEVICE. Overlapping a read mapping with a write mapping is a valid case in dma-coherent devices like QAT. The function that frees and unmaps the buffers, qat_alg_free_bufl() has been changed accordingly to the changes to the mapping function. DMA-API: 4xxx 0000:06:00.0: cacheline tracking EEXIST, overlapping mappings aren't supported WARNING: CPU: 53 PID: 4362 at kernel/dma/debug.c:570 add_dma_entry+0x1e9/0x270 ... | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86: Fix NULL event access and potential PEBS record loss When intel_pmu_drain_pebs_icl() is called to drain PEBS records, the perf_event_overflow() could be called to process the last PEBS record. While perf_event_overflow() could trigger the interrupt throttle and stop all events of the group, like what the below call-chain shows. perf_event_overflow() -> __perf_event_overflow() ->__perf_event_account_interrupt() -> perf_event_throttle_group() -> perf_event_throttle() -> event->pmu->stop() -> x86_pmu_stop() The side effect of stopping the events is that all corresponding event pointers in cpuc->events[] array are cleared to NULL. Assume there are two PEBS events (event a and event b) in a group. When intel_pmu_drain_pebs_icl() calls perf_event_overflow() to process the last PEBS record of PEBS event a, interrupt throttle is triggered and all pointers of event a and event b are cleared to NULL. Then intel_pmu_drain_pebs_icl() tries to process the last PEBS record of event b and encounters NULL pointer access. To avoid this issue, move cpuc->events[] clearing from x86_pmu_stop() to x86_pmu_del(). It's safe since cpuc->active_mask or cpuc->pebs_enabled is always checked before access the event pointer from cpuc->events[]. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bfs: Reconstruct file type when loading from disk syzbot is reporting that S_IFMT bits of inode->i_mode can become bogus when the S_IFMT bits of the 32bits "mode" field loaded from disk are corrupted or when the 32bits "attributes" field loaded from disk are corrupted. A documentation says that BFS uses only lower 9 bits of the "mode" field. But I can't find an explicit explanation that the unused upper 23 bits (especially, the S_IFMT bits) are initialized with 0. Therefore, ignore the S_IFMT bits of the "mode" field loaded from disk. Also, verify that the value of the "attributes" field loaded from disk is either BFS_VREG or BFS_VDIR (because BFS supports only regular files and the root directory). | ||||

| CVE-2025-40222 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tty: serial: sh-sci: fix RSCI FIFO overrun handling The receive error handling code is shared between RSCI and all other SCIF port types, but the RSCI overrun_reg is specified as a memory offset, while for other SCIF types it is an enum value used to index into the sci_port_params->regs array, as mentioned above the sci_serial_in() function. For RSCI, the overrun_reg is CSR (0x48), causing the sci_getreg() call inside the sci_handle_fifo_overrun() function to index outside the bounds of the regs array, which currently has a size of 20, as specified by SCI_NR_REGS. Because of this, we end up accessing memory outside of RSCI's rsci_port_params structure, which, when interpreted as a plat_sci_reg, happens to have a non-zero size, causing the following WARN when sci_serial_in() is called, as the accidental size does not match the supported register sizes. The existence of the overrun_reg needs to be checked because SCIx_SH3_SCIF_REGTYPE has overrun_reg set to SCLSR, but SCLSR is not present in the regs array. Avoid calling sci_getreg() for port types which don't use standard register handling. Use the ops->read_reg() and ops->write_reg() functions to properly read and write registers for RSCI, and change the type of the status variable to accommodate the 32-bit CSR register. sci_getreg() and sci_serial_in() are also called with overrun_reg in the sci_mpxed_interrupt() interrupt handler, but that code path is not used for RSCI, as it does not have a muxed interrupt. ------------[ cut here ]------------ Invalid register access WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 0 at drivers/tty/serial/sh-sci.c:522 sci_serial_in+0x38/0xac Modules linked in: renesas_usbhs at24 rzt2h_adc industrialio_adc sha256 cfg80211 bluetooth ecdh_generic ecc rfkill fuse drm backlight ipv6 CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 6.17.0-rc1+ #30 PREEMPT Hardware name: Renesas RZ/T2H EVK Board based on r9a09g077m44 (DT) pstate: 604000c5 (nZCv daIF +PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) pc : sci_serial_in+0x38/0xac lr : sci_serial_in+0x38/0xac sp : ffff800080003e80 x29: ffff800080003e80 x28: ffff800082195b80 x27: 000000000000000d x26: ffff8000821956d0 x25: 0000000000000000 x24: ffff800082195b80 x23: ffff000180e0d800 x22: 0000000000000010 x21: 0000000000000000 x20: 0000000000000010 x19: ffff000180e72000 x18: 000000000000000a x17: ffff8002bcee7000 x16: ffff800080000000 x15: 0720072007200720 x14: 0720072007200720 x13: 0720072007200720 x12: 0720072007200720 x11: 0000000000000058 x10: 0000000000000018 x9 : ffff8000821a6a48 x8 : 0000000000057fa8 x7 : 0000000000000406 x6 : ffff8000821fea48 x5 : ffff00033ef88408 x4 : ffff8002bcee7000 x3 : ffff800082195b80 x2 : 0000000000000000 x1 : 0000000000000000 x0 : ffff800082195b80 Call trace: sci_serial_in+0x38/0xac (P) sci_handle_fifo_overrun.isra.0+0x70/0x134 sci_er_interrupt+0x50/0x39c __handle_irq_event_percpu+0x48/0x140 handle_irq_event+0x44/0xb0 handle_fasteoi_irq+0xf4/0x1a0 handle_irq_desc+0x34/0x58 generic_handle_domain_irq+0x1c/0x28 gic_handle_irq+0x4c/0x140 call_on_irq_stack+0x30/0x48 do_interrupt_handler+0x80/0x84 el1_interrupt+0x34/0x68 el1h_64_irq_handler+0x18/0x24 el1h_64_irq+0x6c/0x70 default_idle_call+0x28/0x58 (P) do_idle+0x1f8/0x250 cpu_startup_entry+0x34/0x3c rest_init+0xd8/0xe0 console_on_rootfs+0x0/0x6c __primary_switched+0x88/0x90 ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- | ||||
| CVE-2025-68228 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/plane: Fix create_in_format_blob() return value create_in_format_blob() is either supposed to return a valid pointer or an error, but never NULL. The caller will dereference the blob when it is not an error, and thus will oops if NULL returned. Return proper error values in the failure cases. | ||||
| CVE-2025-40253 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/ctcm: Fix double-kfree The function 'mpc_rcvd_sweep_req(mpcginfo)' is called conditionally from function 'ctcmpc_unpack_skb'. It frees passed mpcginfo. After that a call to function 'kfree' in function 'ctcmpc_unpack_skb' frees it again. Remove 'kfree' call in function 'mpc_rcvd_sweep_req(mpcginfo)'. Bug detected by the clang static analyzer. | ||||
| CVE-2025-68218 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-multipath: fix lockdep WARN due to partition scan work Blktests test cases nvme/014, 057 and 058 fail occasionally due to a lockdep WARN. As reported in the Closes tag URL, the WARN indicates that a deadlock can happen due to the dependency among disk->open_mutex, kblockd workqueue completion and partition_scan_work completion. To avoid the lockdep WARN and the potential deadlock, cut the dependency by running the partition_scan_work not by kblockd workqueue but by nvme_wq. | ||||
