On further analysis, I realized that the second parameter to min() is
not correct. xfs_ifork::if_bytes is the size of the xfs_ifork::if_data
buffer. if_bytes can be smaller than the data fork size because:
(a) the forkoff code tries to keep the data area as large as possible
(b) for symbolic links, if_bytes is the ondisk file size + 1
(c) forkoff is always a multiple of 8.
Case in point: for a single-byte symlink target, forkoff will be
8 but the buffer will only be 2 bytes long.
In other words, the logic here is wrong and we walk off the end of the
incore buffer. Fix that. |
| A flaw was found in the X.org server. Due to improperly tracked allocation size in _XkbSetCompatMap, a local attacker may be able to trigger a buffer overflow condition via a specially crafted payload, leading to denial of service or local privilege escalation in distributions where the X.org server is run with root privileges. |
| phonenumber is a library for parsing, formatting and validating international phone numbers. Since 0.3.4, the phonenumber parsing code may panic due to a panic-guarded out-of-bounds access on the phonenumber string. In a typical deployment of rust-phonenumber, this may get triggered by feeding a maliciously crafted phonenumber, e.g. over the network, specifically strings of the form `+dwPAA;phone-context=AA`, where the "number" part potentially parses as a number larger than 2^56. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.3.6. |
| A CWE-126 “Buffer Over-read” was discovered affecting the 130.8005 TCP/IP Gateway running firmware version 12h. The information disclosure can be triggered by leveraging a memory leak affecting the web server. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability in order to leak valid authentication tokens from the process memory associated to users currently logged to the system and bypass the authentication mechanism. |
| A vulnerability was found in H3C GR-3000AX V100R007L50. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function UpdateWanParamsMulti/UpdateIpv6Params of the file /routing/goform/aspForm. The manipulation of the argument param leads to buffer overflow. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor confirms the existence of this issue. Because they assess the risk as low, they do not have immediate plans for remediation. |
| The users endpoint in the groov View API returns a list of all users and
associated metadata including their API keys. This endpoint requires an
Editor role to access and will display API keys for all users,
including Administrators. |
| HAProxy 2.2 through 3.1.6, in certain uncommon configurations, has a sample_conv_regsub heap-based buffer overflow because of mishandling of the replacement of multiple short patterns with a longer one. |
|
A buffer overflow vulnerability was reported
in a system recovery bootloader that was part of the Lenovo preloaded Windows 7 and 8 operating systems from 2012 to 2014
that could allow a privileged attacker with local access to execute arbitrary code.
|
| A vulnerability classified as critical was found in uYanki board-stm32f103rc-berial up to 84daed541609cb7b46854cc6672a275d1007e295. This vulnerability affects the function heartrate1_i2c_hal_write of the file 7.Example/hal/i2c/max30100/Manual/demo2/2/heartrate1_hal.c. The manipulation of the argument num leads to stack-based buffer overflow. Continious delivery with rolling releases is used by this product. Therefore, no version details of affected nor updated releases are available. |
| NVIDIA nvJPEG2000 library contains a vulnerability where an attacker can cause a buffer overflow issue by means of a specially crafted JPEG2000 file. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to data tampering. |
| A vulnerability was found in sparklemotion nokogiri c29c920907366cb74af13b4dc2230e9c9e23b833 and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function hashmap_set_with_hash of the file gumbo-parser/src/hashmap.c. The manipulation leads to heap-based buffer overflow. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. The identifier of the patch is ada4708e5a67114402cd3feb70a4e1d1d7cf773a. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. The project maintainer explains that the affected code was merged into the main branch but the commit never appeared in an official release. |
| parse-duraton is software that allows users to convert a human readable duration to milliseconds. Versions prior to 2.1.3 are vulnerable to an event loop delay due to the CPU-bound operation of resolving the provided string, from a 0.5ms and up to ~50ms per one operation, with a varying size from 0.01 MB and up to 4.3 MB respectively, and an out of memory that would crash a running Node.js application due to a string size of roughly 10 MB that utilizes unicode characters. Version 2.1.3 contains a patch. |
| A vulnerability has been found in MarkText up to 0.17.1 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function getRecommendTitleFromMarkdownString of the file marktext/src/main/utils/index.js. The manipulation leads to inefficient regular expression complexity. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. |
| A weakness has been identified in CodeMirror up to 5.65.20. Affected is an unknown function of the file mode/markdown/markdown.js of the component Markdown Mode. This manipulation causes inefficient regular expression complexity. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be exploited. Upgrading to version 6.0 is able to address this issue. You should upgrade the affected component. Not all code samples mentioned in the GitHub issue can be found. The repository mentions, that "CodeMirror 6 exists, and is [...] much more actively maintained." |
| The BigFix SaaS's HTTP responses were missing some security headers. The absence of these headers weakens the application's client-side security posture, making it more vulnerable to common web attacks that these headers are designed to mitigate, such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Clickjacking, and protocol downgrade attacks. |
| Free Desktop Clock 3.0 contains a stack overflow vulnerability in the Time Zones display name input that allows attackers to overwrite Structured Exception Handler (SEH) registers. Attackers can exploit the vulnerability by crafting a malicious Unicode input that triggers an access violation and potentially execute arbitrary code. |
| A Buffer Overflow vulnerabilty in the local_app_set_router_token function of Vilo 5 Mesh WiFi System <= 5.16.1.33 allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code via sscanf reading the token and timezone JSON fields into a fixed-length buffer. |
| Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output vulnerability in The Wikimedia Foundation Mediawiki - Version Compare Extension allows Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).This issue affects Mediawiki - Version Compare Extension: from 1.39 through 1.43. |
| A vulnerability in the OTRS Admin Interface and Agent Interface (versions before OTRS 8) allow parameter injection due to for an autheniticated agent or admin user.
This issue affects:
* OTRS 7.0.X
* OTRS 8.0.X
* OTRS 2023.X
* OTRS 2024.X
* OTRS 2025.X
* ((OTRS)) Community Edition: 6.0.x
Products based on the ((OTRS)) Community Edition also very likely to be affected |
| A Structured Exception Handler based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Effectmatrix Total Video Converter Command Line (TVCC) 2.50 when a specially crafted file is passed to the -ff parameter. The vulnerability occurs due to improper handling of file input with overly long characters, leading to memory corruption. This can result in arbitrary code execution or denial of service. |
